Orthodox religion of all kinds has managed to maintain the mystique in what we call mysticism.
The teachings of the Great Ones have been interpreted in such ways as to lead one to believe that the subject matter was relevant to one department of life only, and this department has been classified as “religion”. Religion has been kept as a small department in one’s life which one attends to during the periods set aside for that purpose only when, in fact, the real essence of these teachings contain the vital truths which concern the whole of life and the meaning of one’s existence.
It is generally supposed that the Great Teachers gave what is called a “spiritual” teaching and this has given many people the idea that this has no relevance to the world of the “material”. Thus an illusion of separate purposes has arisen when, in truth, there is no real difference between the “spiritual” and the “material”. All there is is the Reality and Its expression which we call Life. So we say that the Great Teachers taught the meaning and purpose of life. However, we will continue to use the term “spiritual” for purposes of explanation.
We have said that man is a spiritual being, that he lives in a spiritual universe, thus all that which he experiences is spiritual in nature, and all that which does not appear to comply with the nature and experience of the spiritual is an illusion. To understand this truth is to understand life as it is. The real reason for our being here is beautifully summarised in the parable of the prodigal son, taught by Jesus, Luke chapter fifteen verses 11-32.
By self-made schemes some believe that they can regain their status as gods while all the time this status has been established. They only need to turn round and accept the truth as it is and get on with accepting this responsibility.
To be a Son of God means that one is in a position to be a potential Father and, understanding the nature and scope of His work, we should learn to understand the nature of light energy or matter and of time and space, so that when we achieve our goal we will be able to commune with other Fathers, which are the Sons of That which is, to us, at present, unknown.
Our release from the pull of the time and space factor depends upon our awakening to the “eternal now”. This is very necessary for the exercise of real spiritual power. When we live continually in this “now” – the complete and whole moment – there is no room for the illusion, hence the illusion cannot become part of one’s experience.
Let us repeat our story regarding “matter”. This is really light energy which is pulsating at various rates and that which is discernible to the senses is this energy pulsating at rates low enough to be picked up or scanned.
By the various thought patterns based upon our creative abilities we project images into this energy and we see form. Through a continuous process of emitting thought images a concrete world is built up. A whole number of realms have been built up in the same way. Thus beauty, ugliness, health and suffering are all thought images that have become concrete experiences.
This world of form where everything is provided for our physical nourishment and enjoyment was built up with the help of more superior (in terms of awareness) beings because we all share in a process of creative experience. The seemingly inharmonious factors have come into being because those who came into human experience “adulterated” their own participation by their own free will by desiring things their own way. Thus we experience a world which reflects the poisons we have infused into it.
Now because this physical body has become an area of concrete experience the way we think and act determines the nature or type of experiences we have, and because it (the body) is pure electro-magnetic energy in form and acts as a vehicle to become of other forms, it is responsive to immediate changes directed upon it. This “directing” is not done by direct thought upon the body itself but by maintaining an attitude which complies with the whole concept of the universe, because we are the Whole. That which is radiating from the Whole will be maintained within the body.
This process could be described as converting the nature of the electro-magnetic currents which we call AC (alternating current) to DC (direct current). To use a play on words we could say that we commence a process by using AC, that is Affirmations in declaring the All-presence of the Reality and Concentration in maintaining the idea of the Reality in consciousness. You will see that this requires some effort but great vigilance to prevent other ideas from entering one’s mind. You might ask whether there is an easier way. We say that there is no “easy” way if one desires to attain the apex of human ideals. If one desires to “become a god” then it is necessary to begin right now in learning how to become just that. Since many of you have been taking the “easy” way for century after century we are willing to reveal processes to you which will take you out of the main stream of humanity – and this means hard work. Because of our knowledge of these matters we can help you to attain this state so you see it is not so hard after all. Every mountain to be climbed appears difficult at first until its height diminishes step by step to the summit.
We now have to stay the habit of thinking in the future. This means that such thought as “I will be whole” or “I’m going to get there” or “In time I will achieve” or “I’m getting better and better” have to be processed right out of our consciousness. This may sound odd since Elade has had to experience the time and space concept in order to help you get out of it but, as you will see later, this represents another symbol of measurement. However, to continue: By inducing the direct current we mean that we imbibe the Direct Consciousness of that which is always in expression, thereby overriding that which we could experience by subscribing to human concepts. The energy field which is speedily responsive to that quality projected into it will provide the form or concrete experience of the perfection which is always within the true universal pattern. We do not have to be concerned about the energy control because it depends upon the conscious approach with the individual to determine that experience which is desired.
What we mean is that the field of energy is subjective to the radiating thought waves emanating from ourselves or the nucleus. To be in control (to override the time and space element) one need only let his awareness be unified with that of the Whole wherein no time and space factor exists. This can be seen to work noticeably in the field of healing, for example. When a person directs all his thought processes to the concept of Wholeness, he disregards the “time” it takes to restore harmony to the body. What he is doing, in fact, is projecting the perfect pattern upon which the energy must immediately respond without giving any consideration or reaction to what appears to be evident through the senses.
After this process has commenced and is maintained, it depends how much illusion is prominent in the individual and how quickly he can erase it before he is finally released from the time and space factor. In terms of time and space, it could take anything from, say, a few months to a few more incarnations.
We would like to point out another important factor in this process: One must live in unison with divine law, otherwise inharmonious energy patterns will be generated which will again, in time, short circuit the whole work, and one will find that he has progressed only in a circle instead of an ascending spiral. Many magicians and ritualists find themselves in this situation, for if, on the one hand, you seek to experience the higher frequency energies and, on the other, continue to fall victim to the sensual world, that is, by making no effort to control your everyday thoughts and actions, it is possible to descend the spiral so that one may need to take more incarnations to regain one’s stability. So you see why the old warning, “it is dangerous to play with fire” still holds.
Remember that in this work you have no adversaries. Every condition which you are trying to “improve” is your work. The time and space factor is not considered evil or something to overcome. It becomes an occult instrument of measurement when we learn how not to be affected by it. Everything within the area of effects becomes our instrument instead of our being their instruments, which most of us are at present. Even the world of illusion becomes something we use instead of our being used by it.
Every organ or part of the physical body is a “magical” or “occult” instrument. Every organ or part is, therefore, a symbol or expression of that which is being emanated from the “invisible”. When you think of a particular organ or part of the body you are automatically attuned with its corresponding area in “space” consciousness or the occult universe.
It is of great importance that you realise that we are dealing with an inner teaching and that all our references are to inner realities only. Unless this is properly understood you will not be able to fully comprehend what we are revealing to your mind as a means of becoming aware of the great possibilities that lie before you. Think over the subject very deeply and let it speak to you from within.
