Joyful Living
Lesson 11
We have talked much about “levels” of consciousness, world of effects, radiating and “inner” sanctuaries and now we will approach the subject of man’s true nature.
From a biological point of view man is made up of various chemicals, cells and organs and is placed in the class “homo sapiens” in respect to the other forms of life on this planet. In this light man is classed as a highly evolved animal. The problem is – did man evolve from a primitive state, from animals, or has he been man always?
According to the book of Genesis man was created after every other living thing on the earth. There is much opportunity now to see photographs or films of a star in the heavens – so let us begin from this point and with our own central sun. Our Earth is a satellite of the sun, therefore forms part, along with the other planets and bodies, of the sun’s own system. From a religious point of view Our Father is a Sun or Star and the planets etc. are His vehicles of expression and are also the “many mansions” in His Kingdom for the various forms of life within His System. Thus, if Our Father begat children like unto Himself and called them “Man” then we are miniature stars with the same potentials. That which we call man through our bodily senses is then not the real man but his satellites, en masse, only. The real entity controlling the body then is not necessarily any particular shape in respect to that form in which it appears. In other words, man is a spark of Intelligence like unto the Great Spark we call the Sun. There is often mention of the “power behind the sun” and it is this “Power” which is not recognisable through the senses – therefore that which we see through the senses is only a particular shape according to our interpretation of the light waves impinging on our bodily organism. Thus this “Power behind the Sun” is the Real Intelligence that controls its own vehicle, or body, which we call our solar system. We could say then that our solar system is Our Father’s physical body so, like a kangaroo, we, His offspring, are suckling in His pouch. In like manner, our selves, called man, or offspring of God, are the power behind our bodies. We are not the body but the power or intelligence which is using a colony of “cells” and “organs” as instruments to experience our life in one of the “heavenly mansions” or a “garden of paradise”.
Man, therefore, is a “spiritual” being – spiritual meaning that he cannot be seen, felt or heard by the senses, and is a star inasmuch as he radiates, or emits, from within himself the energies, or forces, that keeps the body active. When that which is called “death” takes place it is the entity that has withdrawn its energy back into itself – causing the body to collapse.
It is because man has never evolved that anthropologists cannot find the “missing link” in nature and it is not that man has achieved so many technical advancements that indicates a “grade” in civilisation but is only a different kind of experience he is enjoying. Man is a very special creation of the Godhead, in one sense, and we could go into great length explaining, from first point, why man is God – thus, not trying to confuse you, we explain simply, again, that man is not the body we see here and any explanation that could be given by speech, sound, touch or colour would be absolutely wrong.
Man exists apart from his physical body and it is this physical aspect which is a kind of “plastic” medium and it responds to the impulses sent out from within ourselves – it could be classed as controlling a car or aeroplane – and it depends on whether we are a careless driver or a wise one. You see then, as we have said, because the body is only a mode of expression it
is useless to try to get any real information regarding ourselves by using our own vehicles. This follows then that if we regard any information via the senses it is an illusion only and not the Truth.
Our real nature is “spirit”. We cannot then be affected, in any way, by conditions appearing in our realm of effects. We are indestructible, permanent, beings living to gain experience and the ability to mould our own environment according to the pattern we, as gods, desire. We suffer because we allow ourselves to become identified with our “tools” and by assessing our nature, and the answers to our problems, from the effects produced in our “workshop”.
Taking the stand from the point of our Real Selves, it is wrong to assume that because our material for working has its own properties that we, the operators, are of the same nature. That which we call the “Truth” then is the truth regarding our own nature, or qualities, and that of the far greater Being we call “Our Father”.
The teachings of Melchisedek represents the “blueprint” in our “workshop” with which to work so that perfection in this particular field of experience is possible. Our “blueprint” or pattern is presented in a religious form because by this means it is the safest and surest way of “self information”. The other numerous “disciplines” are round about ways for we have found that one tends to regard all life in the light of the findings of his own particular discipline whilst true religion embraces the whole and complete picture of man. By this we mean that, for example, a geologist might see life in terms of potential oil fields or coal mines – or when he should be enjoying the countryside he would be considering its structures etc.. A biologist could consider all life in the terms of cells and chemical activity. Perhaps to some members of the healing profession, of whatever sort, all people are potential patients. You could go on through any profession – not forgetting the “occultists” who go about trying to assess what sign this or that person is born under or whether they are suffering now from what took place in a previous “incarnation”; but religion, as we see it, is concerned with helping man to use his potentials correctly so that he enjoys his mode of life without regarding it as his means of fulfilment.
When you can take the stand from your own true nature under any circumstances life appears in its correct perspective – it means that you have found yourself and all will work out according to the pattern.
Many of you will ask “Can our own centre be located within the body”? The answer is “No” – because, being of a highly subtle nature, the real man cannot be located in time and space and our domain is within the infinite. This is why meditation or concentration on a specified centre of the body is useless for the realisation of God-ship.
You cannot visualise yourself as a perfect spiritual being and it is only in the field of Abstract Thought that you possess a feeling of infinity and perfection – thus it is in this realm that you should maintain a “rock-steady” FAITH for you belong to that which cannot be touched by the senses. In reality you are already, without question, the infinite perfect spirit –
so why do you have to give yourself “material support”? Because we are already this perfect nature, in the likeness of Our Father, all we have to do is prove it out.
St. Paul points out in Hebrews, chapter 6, that we have to forget the “old order” and give way to the new. We have to forget the rituals of purification, crucifixion and resurrection and practice the new “ceremonies” of perfection and responsibility in the “new order” established for us and it is only by living it out that it can take form. The ritual of the Bread and Wine now takes on a new significance. We, as perfect beings, become, in reality, the dispensers of the “divine commodities” by becoming the Bread and Wine ourselves. We no longer greedily consume our “Host”, by relying solely on Him, but become “Hosts” ourselves by allowing the less enlightened to “feed” upon us. This process allows the order of perfected consciousness to become a concrete reality in the world of man. Thus, also, will the already established order in the invisible realms be free to prepare that which they have in mind for the future of mankind and to be a surety for us as we seek to fulfil our destiny here upon the Earth.
Let us, therefore, go forward in the light of the great glory that has been bestowed upon us and let the suffering world be healed by our presence.
Our Solar System, which, as we have mentioned, is just one of a great family and is full of intelligent life in many forms and just as we, being juniors, consider ourselves part of this life there are other beings here besides us. When one considers the infinity of life one can see the possibility of more intelligent beings than ourselves and just because we cannot see them it does not mean that they are not here. When we can look out into the realm of effects from our true centre we become aware of these our co-workers and can communicate with them by means of a mental conversation. Because these beings are not “organised” they cannot be “claimed” by any person or group and any person or group that claims that they have so-and so as its head does not understand the nature of Truth.
