 An Important Message from the Priests

The School of Universal Mind is republishing this message (given out in the 1970’s), to confirm that in today’s world it is still possible to be unified with the Intelligences existing in our Solar System (which some call the spiritual hierarchy), and with the very Source Itself (the Universal Mind). Indeed, this is our very nature.

Let us explain a little about our own nature because this is exactly what you all are like from the level of your own true natures. Understanding the description we give of ourselves will help you also to realise what you can all experience of the Reality of life. What we want you to understand firstly, however, is that we are not “space-men” or contacts or controls of psychic mediums – but men functioning from what you call the “spiritual” level and please do not confuse this with “spirits” as generally understood.

By understanding our nature, as we explain it, you should then understand yourselves a little better because you are really the same and will be able to experience and enjoy the truth of your own Real Selves.

Many of us, during this cycle, are “attached” to physical bodies and look just the same as any other human being and would not be recognised for what we are save by those responsive to our radiating nature. This radiating is not in the form of a “bright and jolly” personality but in a quiet sense of an assuring presence. You will, no doubt, ask “Can women become members of your Order?”. We regard all men and women as equals and truly there is no difference in “sexes” at our level. We are all Man in its sense of the Whole. What form the “physical” body takes is of no importance because it depends on what sort of “mission”, or job, one has to do which decides what kind of body to take. Male and Female are only different in form and function at the human level, but within – the entity is divine Man.

Those of us in the “flesh” are equally one with those in the “invisible” and constitute the complete organism and it could be likened to a kind of “Jacob’s ladder” leading through all levels.

Some priests of the Order have placed themselves at the human level so that they can understand your present dilemma, your doubts and fears – and so having come up against your own difficulties we can see the reasons why you fail to become conscious of us. The main reasons seem to be doubt about our existence and fear of letting go of your own little worlds of make-believe. Also, many cannot conceive of a state of Perfection existing within the “flesh” – but trust us – that is why we are publicly declaring our presence to prove what we say to those who are willing to listen.

We admit that we will have to do more than we had bargained for because we had hoped to find persons ready and willing to receive us so we are left to devise methods wherein we have to help people from a very basic level until they can bear the responsibility of this Priesthood for themselves.

This task has been given to Elade (his pen-name) who is one of yourselves whom we accepted into our Order. He still has a long way to go – so you see – we are prepared to accept persons who come up to our required standards. He is, at present, most suited to meet people at the basic level to sort out their difficulties. Others of us have different work to do which does not bring us into direct contact with the public. Elade will remain in “contact”, as it were, with us to discuss your main difficulties so that you can be assured of a complete service of Mediatorship on your behalf.

Whilst you might not want to become a priest of the Order, specifically, you can still come to the realisation of your own inner perfection and go your own way. You are never denied our help and encouragement. Our Order is one of a holy priesthood and is open to “humans” during this period who desire to enter in after first fulfilling the requirements. The Wholeness and Perfection, we speak of, can be expressed by any man and therein he is free to either remain in his harmonious state without doing any special work or he can take on the responsibility of fulfilling one of the many tasks open to him. The choice is his.

What is more – you are not compelled to “join” anything. All we ask of you is to prove our teaching. Whether or not you believe in us does not matter (we can be but a myth or legend to you) – we do not care – but we would prefer that you practiced our teaching in your daily living so that you can experience the full power of God. We would like to warn the unwary ones that if they come to us with impure and dishonest motives, the power we radiate will disrupt their own built-up world and compel them to turn away.

We mean to demonstrate the Wholeness and Perfection which you dream of at your level, that you might become witnesses of the very truth we teach. Furthermore, this is not a “new” teaching – it cannot be – since, if we are explaining the Truth to you, it has been true from the beginning and nothing has changed, or ever will. What we are doing, however, is to make it possible for you to share with us our experiences on a wider and more wonderful scale, and as our Order, in particular, has been a mystery to many people we now declare its existence in reality. Since our Priesthood became severed from a harmonious contact with the public bodies, in the period mentioned before, we were forced to retire to what you call the “inner planes” (but actually these are your own soul levels) and made ourselves known to prepared and responsive persons only, by various methods, without revealing our true identity. “Perfection” then was available to the few. Now, since much bigotry has disappeared and also the talk of “heresy” etc, we are able to reveal ourselves without causing any sensation.

We have found that we shall have to introduce ways and means of helping people via things with which they are familiar, so we teach from a very basic level at first – mainly using “christian” terminology. From this we touch upon many aspects of the consciousness of Man and his relationship with the Divine Parent and how it is possible to maintain a continuity of awareness through from the other areas of your experiences and integrate them with the “physical” level. This of course brings you into awareness of us. When you progress in the understanding of our teaching you will find that it turns out quite differently from what you had at first expected, or speculated upon, and it is because of this that many fail to understand us but patience and willingness, on your part, can help tremendously.

Written lessons can touch only a mere fringe of what we have to say, so it is advisable on the part of those who want to take the teaching seriously to seek personal or class guidance.

To help start preparing your attitude of receptivity for these teachings we would like to point out a few necessary things to banish from your minds before much progress can be made. There is that self-imprisoning dogma perpetuated by most sects of christianity that the salvation of man comes by the death of one man – namely Jesus Christ. This is an impossibility in relation to Divine Law. All men cause their own suffering by wrong actions and it is only man himself who can change the circumstances. Jesus is a Mediator but He cannot wash away your unfortunate conditions simply by praying to Him or believing in Him unless you act upon the principles He taught. The fact of Him dying on a cross has never been proved historically and in the “prayer” attributed to Him in the gospel of St John, chapter 17, verses 4 and 5, He had completed His mission before this supposed death. As you can gather from the text – He had finished His work as the Christ and was prepared to enter into Fatherhood.

The reason why so many “christians” have failed to reach His standard is that they have been hoodwinked by false doctrines and dogmas and have not practiced the simple fundamentals of the teaching. The living out of the teaching in every facet of life is more important than the fact of whether He even existed – and even more important than a worship of Him as the ONLY Son of God, which He never claimed. When the Christ speaks of loving your enemies, it means just that and the result would of course be no enemies. Even if your enemies are not people then, in like manner, by radiating the love of God your fears and doubts in other directions would be dissolved too.

This is downright simple and practical but many do not seem to understand this. Judging and criticising is another failure of this present day, and since the one condemning or criticising is really only judging from his own conceptions and reactions to that which he judges – the finger of accusation points directly to himself. In short, he is expounding his own failures.

Many believe these things but seem not able to bring the results of their beliefs into experience. This is mainly through lack of faith. Because it is impossible to comprehend divine truths by the senses – faith is the only method you have. By maintaining an unshaken faith in the ever-present power of life and in the Reality of God’s loving and restoring nature you can experience, in the flesh, all of His attributes. From our level, faith dissolves into knowing and when you arrive at this stage in your understanding you live in another world.

Now, we are not interested in what you might have read or heard about us because most of it is “hearsay” or speculation and whilst there are a few groups in existence giving genuine teaching, some whom we know of, the source from which you are receiving these written talks is the only one with direct permission to act in the name of our Order. Whilst direct proof of these statements is not available on written documents – the evidence of our presence will be witnessed by the discerning ones.

Note

The terms “level” and “levels of consciousness” are used to describe man’s own created degrees of isolation from the source which in Reality do not exist.

Man – the intelligent being who has been created in the complete likeness to the Creator and possesses the same nature and qualities. Man, as a whole, is an important organism within the Solar System, and beyond, and forms part of Its activity.

Human beings – the term given by men to themselves as they believe themselves to be by attempted observation through the physical senses.
