Joyful Living
Lesson 9
Creation is like a continuum of worlds within worlds – each world overlapping and interpenetrating each other – yet one cannot interfere or experience the realm of another.
The diagram (page 21) represents part of our solar system – or that organism peculiar to our particular realm of expression. The smaller “cell” represents you who are contained within the system. The white portion represents the activity or world of effects which are the outworkings of energy radiating from within the central core – illustrated by the darker portion.
Our Earth has its own radiating core from which we draw our sustenance. This central core maintains its activity by means of its response to the radiations from the central Sun.
Whilst every individual organism has its own centre and area of effects or experience there is still an “over-riding” Principle in which we, in the Melchisedek teachings, are interested. To us, this realm of consciousness is the one with which we are dealing. This realm is not affected by that which appears in the world of experiences, or effects, because all living organisms, that is the active life we witness in our “physical” world, build their own worlds according to their own peculiar nature and continually draw their own sustenance, or inherent energies, from within their own centres by means of their response to the forces radiating from the central Sun. To sum this up it means that the Sun radiates all the necessary energies to all of its planets to maintain a stimulus from within them which in turn gives activity to the
life on themselves, the planets, by means of that life’s response to it. This represents one big family and just as we are dependent on the Sun, we are all dependent on one another – so you see that when we try to give any kind of importance to ourselves, as individuals, we should take a second look to realise that we are only one ignorant unit, in a sense.
In this world of effects it is possible to manipulate the energies radiating from bodies in our sensual area as can be proved in the various fields of science, ceremonial magic and witchcraft etc. From the point of view from the “perfected” level these all occur, as stated, in the sensual world, or realm of the senses, and their effects only last until the energies dissolve or disperse by means of other forces working directly upon them – that is – from the higher levels.
That which we experience, as an individual, is moulded by our own awareness to act or react. Through various stages we gradually become aware of another quality within ourselves wherein we desire to share with our fellows and to do what we believe to be “good works” – this is the “Christ” stage in our growing and we try to implement the nature of this principle into our lives. We work to make this “ideal” a living reality by means of the experiences gained. Here we touch the principle of the “common good” in our solar system and begin to establish our “Son-ship”.
Again, in like manner, through a steady succession of expanding awareness, we become conscious of new ideas, or concepts, and new visions appear. The next stage is on to perfection and we begin to establish our “God-ship”. This is the stage wherein the Melchisedek teachings come to help us complete our cycle of perfection here on earth.

Let us restate the story in another form:
According to our western tradition – following through the Patriarchs to Moses (who received initiation into the Egyptian mysteries) who taught the Law for disciplinary purposes and was able to demonstrate a “higher” magic to the magicians of that time.
Later came Jesus (along the same line) who taught and demonstrated the Christ Principle and He embodied the “Son-ship” concept.
When a stage, or level of consciousness, becomes embodied by what we call a “Great Teacher” the effects present themselves in what we are calling the “world of effects” and so become as such. By this we mean that the principle becomes concrete and real to us in our sensual world.
Jesus proved by His life and deeds the Reality of the “Christ Principle” in nature and thus opened up the way for us all to become “Christs” in our own right and so has no need to return to restate His mission. Someone else will come along to embody the principles of the next stage showing us the state of Perfection. This could happen any time now.
See Hebrews, chapter 6, verses 1 – 3 for the indication of a higher teaching known to St. Paul and which is the teaching that is to finalise the work of the Christ.
We continually repeat statements from different points of view in order that you remember more easily so here again we state that as one level of consciousness is embodied and proved it becomes part of the world of effects and therefore has no power until it takes form. When the power of the concept has been released into the world it illuminates the existing doctrines and enables the adherents of such doctrines, say Christianity for example, to reach their goal quicker. In effect it makes for a speeding up process – for as a “higher concept” becomes a reality it releases more subtle energies to the “lower regions”.
It can be seen that as a person fulfils his “spiritual” responsibilities he automatically helps his fellow creatures in ways often unknown to himself. He becomes a more efficient instrument within the universal organism and thus is informed by this organism on its purpose.
How can this knowledge help you – the student?
You are perhaps well acquainted with the terms “positive” and “negative” as used in conditions in this world. A “positive” attitude is one of action and a “negative” attitude is one of reaction. In the field of the “right thinking” philosophies one is said to remain immune from certain effects when he thinks according to the “right concept”. Because in these early stages we can only work with “concepts”, or ideas, the same technique must follow here in this work. We first try to give you the idea of something beyond the already existing ones which automatically sets the mind thinking in that direction. As you dwell upon the idea, say, Perfection and Wholeness and try to implement the principles of this idea other ideas spring forth which help the idea to gradually take form. This is where you begin to experience the reality of your concept and you prove the truth of it. Truth, in itself, is a relative state, as we mention later, thus it leaves the door open for progression to infinity. As we are well acquainted with the “Christ Concept” it behoves us to fully practice its principles to the reaches of its possibilities before we can have any success in implementing the “Father Concept”. When we remain “positive” to the effects of life we are “negative” to the next stage higher thus allowing the purer energies to flow or radiate into our world of effects or experiences. If we have fulfilled the “Christ Principle” and maintain the qualities they become our world of effects and the higher stage becomes possible for us to achieve.
To continue to expand our consciousness we should always be prepared to forego our present ideas and step into the unknown. By this means the unknown becomes known and by
embodying the fullness of our radiating centre we also embody the powers and knowledge relating thereto.
Because we work as a whole organism other people are often instrumental in bringing our own effects back to us – whether it be for good or ill. Inasmuch as these persons conform to the relative worldly standards in which you, yourself, react but by your new knowledge you cease to react and then you help dissolve the “evil” by virtue of the “new” release of pure energy. Thus by not reacting you have helped to dissolve the so-called “bad effect” and the person concerned is helped because it has prevented him from becoming the instrument of your “suffering”. When we exercise our “Christ quality” by non-reaction we are extremely active in another direction.
We have mentioned that Truth, in itself, is only a relative state and you might ask. “Can we go higher than Perfection?” Perfection, Wholeness and Absolute Truth are only relative states through the successive “levels of consciousness”. Because we are limited at each stage to a conception of Perfection at our respective level it would be illogical to assume that infinity represented our own meagre ideas about it. Thus what appears as Perfection now is only a glimpse of what lies beyond.
To embody a concept means that you fulfil in your life all the necessary principles required of the concept. To reach full Christhood or Son-ship of God you have to live out all that Christhood represents so with “God-ship” it is the same and this is no mean thing but demanding on your absolute honesty to yourself and no other.
